Processing of Sugar and Salt

My skin has been highly reactive, so I’ve been researching the processes of different ingredients. I found that sugar beets are processed with PEG (and hence their byproduct molasses) and that salt can contain PG. They usually use calcium silicate as an anti-caking agent for salt, but 10 other chemicals, including propylene glycol, can be used instead. Organic sugar and sea salt should be “safe”.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience! Propylene glycol allergy and polyethylene glycol allergy are tough to deal with  because they are in EVERYTHING. Almost anything that includes a manufacturing process is a suspect for both of those ingredients. Life quickly becomes a battlefield every single day. I encourage everybody to share their tips! It's all part of our story.
