I started having eczema when I was about 4 years old, and I was given some pills and some creams which did not help. The one thing that did help was oatmeal baths. My mother put about a cup of quick Quaker oats in my bath water, and instead of using soap, which irritated my skin, she used handfuls of wet oats to "wash" me. There is something very healing and soothing in oats, and it helped a LOT. (Mother had to scoop the oats out of the tub before draining the water.)As an adult, I have found wonderful relief from all of my allergies with something called NAET or Nambudripad's Allergy Elimination Technique. If you Google that, you will be able to learn all about it. NAET is availale in all 50 states and in most countries. It is VERY effective, and will greatly improve your life. Today I was treated for allergy to propylene glycol, and must avoid all exposure to it until tomorrow--after that, it should not bother me!
I've heard of oatmeal baths before and putting the oatmeal in a fabric pouch so it wouldn't get all over the bath, but I've never heard of using it as a soap/scrubber! Thanks for the tip about NAET, as well. It sounds like they try to get to the root of the actual problem. I'll have to read more into it!
