One of your fellow readers with a PG allergy is about to have a baby and needs some feedback - let's help her out!

Q:

I'm due to have my second child in a couple of months. I was diagnosed with a severe reaction to Propylene Glycol after my first child was born. In preparing for our second, I've realized that many of the products I used during the first delivery cannot be used during this one. I've consulted with my OBGYN, but he doesn't seem terribly concerned. One of the medications that I specifically asked about (Dermaplast), he dismissed and said, "You'll be fine." I immediately drove to CVS and found that Dermaplast (a lifesaver during my first recovery) has PG and/or PEG in it. I'm already prepared to bring my own toilet paper, hand wash, towels and washcloths, as well as my own regular personal items (shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, etc.). Has anyone else traveled down this road and can help guide me in my research?

Thanks for your help!
