RECIPE: Pizza / Pasta Sauce


Here's an easy recipe for pizza or pasta sauce. In this case, it's obviously pizza! I actually avoid wheat due to the nickel content but eeeeeevery now and then, I'll allow myself to indulge as it seems I can tolerate it every once in a while.

This recipe makes a LOT, so get ready to freeze it or use it for something else.


  • 28 oz fresh petite diced tomatoes
  • 1 10.5 oz can fire roasted diced tomatoes
  • 2 6 oz cans organic tomato paste
  • 1 yellow onion, diced
  • 1 green pepper, diced
  • 1 red pepper, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/8 tsp oregano
  • 1/4 Tblsp basil leaves
  • 1 Tblsp parsley leaves
  • 1/8 tsp pepper
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • extra virgin olive oil


  1. In a deep skillet, coat the bottom in olive oil and heat on medium-high
  2. Add onions and cook until slightly translucent
  3. Add the peppers and cook for 8 minutes
  4. Add the tomatoes, tomato paste, garlic, oregano, basil, parsley, salt and pepper and mix well
  5. Cover and cook on low for 30 - 45 minutes, stirring every now and then
  6. Put on a pizza and bake it, or add to pasta! (I topped the pizza with mozzarella and some extra parsley)
